Each year our local Central Oregon Community and State are honored, being represented internationally, by a select group of our Central Oregon Middle School & High School students who are nominated, interviewed and selected to join delegates chosen nationwide to travel abroad and represent our country as Ambassadors with the "People to People Ambassador Programs", founded by Dwight D. Eisenhower in 1956.

This year our Student Ambassador Delegates will embark on "European Odyssey 2008." Their travels will take them on a journey of a lifetime. Two delegations, Middle School and High School, will share their travel experience with other Ambassador Delegations while representing our United States of America.

Each year our Central Oregon fundraising group families hope to raise numerous delegate tuitions (about $6,000 each). This is an extremely challenging goal - yet through the generosity, caring and support of our local Central Oregon community, family, friends, hard work & faith, our Ambassador Delegates and P2P Fundraising Group are dedicated to meet this goal.

In addition to fundraising activities, our Ambassador Delegates (our Central Oregon youth) also participate in community service and humanitarian service activities & events. Many hours of time and effort are required of all our delegates. The lessons they learn during this process are as valuable as the experiences they will have while traveling abroad. Peace through Understanding begins at home - and then propagates globally.

We are also very excited this year to be members of Oregon's first chapter of People to People International, right here in Central Oregon! PTPICO is the Central Oregon Chapter of the non-profit organization whose mission promoting peace through understanding is aligned with Dwight D. Eisenhower's vision when he founded the People to People program in 1956.
