My Experience as a Leader:

I am currently nearing the end of my 17th year as a classroom teacher. I have taught grades 4-8 and I've been teaching 7th grade in Sisters, Oregon for the past eight years. This year I am teaching social studies and architectural design and I’m loving it! I also coach volleyball in the fall, track & field in the spring, and I am a certified ski and snowboard instructor. I always know what season it is by the sport I am involved with!!

My Travel Experience:

I have journeyed to Europe twice with People to People: once to Holland as a coach with a tennis team and once to the Mediterranean with a high school student delegation. Also, I have traveled extensively through the 11 Western states as well as Canada and Mexico.

My Hobbies and Interests:

I love the outdoors and many sports. I like to keep active and believe me, exploring with People to People allows me to keep in shape.

My Favorite People to People Moment:

So far there have been a few moments that stand out--visiting the Anne Frank House in Amsterdam, Holland was unbelievable! Dipping my toes into the North Sea comes in a close second. The third special moment was climbing down the Eiffel Tower in Paris and having the entire tower light up!!! It was a complete surprise to our high school delegation and it was breathtaking!! We talked about it for days afterwards.
